Poliform sofas and seating systems

The largest family on this site. Poliform seating runs from a two seat sofa to a system that turns a corner and carries its own side tables, and most of it is modular, which is why a price only exists once the layout does.

Poliform Bristol

Jean-Marie Massaud, 2013, marble, wood

Bristol is Jean-Marie Massaud's seating system for Poliform, in the catalog since 2013 and reworked since for the way people sit now. It comes fixed or modular, with deep cushions and arms thin enough to read as a line, and it brings its own coffee tables, a bookcase and a sideboard.

Poliform Dune

Poliform Bristol, there is no American photograph of Dune

Dune is searched for in the United States more than most families on this site, and it is one of four that Poliform does not publish for the American market at all. That does not mean it cannot be ordered. It means the page you were probably looking for does not exist, and this one explains why.

Poliform Ernest

Jean-Marie Massaud, 2024, fabric, leather

Ernest is Jean-Marie Massaud taking comfort to its limit, in 2024. The sofa is soft and deliberately deconstructed, built from modules rather than a single frame, and the armchair is one of those modules on its own.

Poliform Ics Ipsilon

Poliform Curve, there is no American photograph of Ics Ipsilon

Ics Ipsilon is listed here for completeness. There is no American catalog page for it and no measurable American search demand, and the honest version of this page is shorter than most on this site.

Poliform Mad

2014, fabric, leather

Mad began in 2014 as a single enveloping armchair and became a family of five: Mad Chair, then King and Queen in 2015, then Joker and the asymmetrical Chaise Longue in 2016. Same language throughout, five different ways of sitting.

Poliform Mondrian

2016, glass, marble

Mondrian covers a living room on its own: the sofa system arrived in 2016 with coffee tables in two heights, the console followed in 2017, and the dining table in 2019 took the same thin topped language to the other end of the room.

Poliform Orbis

2024, fabric, leather

Orbis is about enclosure. Two sofas and an armchair, listed in 2024, all built on a curved back that wraps around whoever sits in it, and in 2026 the Orbis Lounge added a cocoon chair with its own pouf and headrest.

Poliform Owen

Jean-Marie Massaud, 2025, fabric, leather

Owen is Jean-Marie Massaud looking back at mid-century design without copying it: fluid curves above, a strict architectural structure below. The sofa and the armchair arrived together in 2025.

Poliform Shangai

Poliform Ernest, there is no American photograph of Shangai

Shangai has no measurable American demand and no American catalog page. It is on this site for completeness, so that the index covers the whole range rather than the convenient part of it.

Poliform Sunday

Flaviano Capriotti, 2023, fabric, leather

Sunday is Flaviano Capriotti's 2023 family, and the name is the brief: seating for the day nobody goes anywhere. Compact, upholstered, with backs that wrap around rather than stand up straight.

Poliform Tribeca

Poliform Gentleman, there is no American photograph of Tribeca

Tribeca carries a New York name and no American catalog page. It is one of four families on this site that Poliform publishes in the wider catalog but not for the United States, and this page says what that means for an order.

Poliform Westside

Jean-Marie Massaud, 2019, fabric, leather

Westside is a modular system: upholstered modules that stand side by side in whatever configuration a room needs, with three coffee tables drawn to go with them. In 2023 Jean-Marie Massaud added Westside Soft, the same system with feather padding.

Poliform Brera

Jean-Marie Massaud, 2022, leather, marble

Brera is Jean-Marie Massaud working in straight lines. The sofa came first, in 2022, as a fixed piece rather than a modular system, and the bed and bedside tables followed in 2024 with the same low, horizontal build.

Poliform Ketch

Jean-Marie Massaud, 2023, glass, wood

Ketch is Jean-Marie Massaud's outdoor family for Poliform, listed in 2023: a sofa, an armchair, a sunbed and coffee tables on solid iroko frames. The back is stretched between two uprights the way a sail is stretched between masts, and the name says as much.

Poliform Mad Out

Marcel Wanders, 2023, glass, rope

Mad Out is Marcel Wanders taking the round lines of the indoor Mad family outside, in 2023. The sofa and armchair are wrapped in woven rope over a frame, and the coffee tables carry tops in lava stone, in two finishes.

Woven outdoor seating

Poliform Magnolia

Emmanuel Gallina, 2023, wood

Magnolia arrived in 2023 as a full seating family by Emmanuel Gallina: a sofa, an armchair, chairs and a sunbed. The structure follows the way a branch grows, thin where it can be and thicker where the load is, which is how a wooden frame this slender carries an upholstered seat.

Poliform Onda

2003, leather, marble

Onda is the oldest family on this site: the pouf dates from 2003, the bed from 2007, the bedside tables and chest from 2014. The bed is a single curved line that works as base and headboard at once, and the case pieces answer it with cylinders in solid wood.

Poliform Savoy

Jean-Marie Massaud, 2026, fabric, leather

Savoy is the newest seating family on this site, from 2026. Jean-Marie Massaud sets soft cushions inside a structure that stays visible, so the sofa shows how it is built instead of hiding it under upholstery.

How to read a Poliform sofa

Start with depth. Poliform publishes seat depth separately from overall depth, and the difference is what decides whether a sofa is for sitting upright or for lying back with a book. A deep seat needs a back cushion that holds you, which is why the deeper families carry extra bolsters rather than a taller back.

Then the base. Some families lift the frame on thin metal feet, which keeps a long sofa from reading as a wall; others sit almost on the floor and make the room feel lower and wider. Neither is better, but the choice changes how much floor you see, and in a small room that is most of the effect.

Then the cover. Fabric and leather come in grades, and the grade moves the price more than the size does. A three seat sofa in an entry grade fabric and the same sofa in a top grade leather are not the same purchase, and we quote both if you ask.

Modules last. Once the shape is settled, the module list follows from it: a chaise, a corner, an ottoman. This is the part people change most often between the first quote and the order, and it costs nothing to change it on paper.

Picked from the range

A sofa that reads as one line across a room is usually three modules, not one piece.
