The trick with Ipanema is that the structure is drawn to disappear while the seat is drawn to be sat in. Many chairs with this little visible frame are uncomfortable after twenty minutes; this one is specified the other way round, with comfort in the padding and restraint in the parts you see.

That makes it the piece that fits where nothing else does. It works at a desk, in a bedroom corner, beside a sofa it does not match, in an office waiting area. Versatile is a word every catalog uses, and here it holds because the chair has no strong opinion about the room.

The dining chair shares the language in a wooden structure, with or without armrests. The armrest version is the one to put at the ends of a long table, where people sit longest; the armless version tucks in and keeps a narrow dining room walkable.
