Compact on purpose
Most upholstered families get larger every year. Sunday goes the other way: the pieces are deliberately compact, which makes them the answer for an apartment, a second living room or the end of an open plan space where a full sized sofa would swallow the floor.
The backs wrap, and on the armchair the back continues around until it becomes an armrest, so there is no joint between the two. That is harder to build than it looks and it is what makes a small chair feel enclosing rather than merely small.
Comfort here is in the seat depth rather than in extra padding. The seat is substantial, so a compact piece still supports a full sized adult properly, which is where a lot of small furniture fails.
As a 2023 family, Sunday is priced and built to order like everything else here. In a room that needs seating for four without a wall long enough for a four seat sofa, this is usually the family we propose.
The back keeps going until it becomes the armrest, with no joint between them.
