A walk-in closet sounds like a luxury until you count the doors it removes. Poliform, the house from Inverigo in Brianza, makes wardrobes as systems, and its Senzafine system builds a walk-in closet that holds itself up. You can stand it against a wall, in the middle of a floor or between a bedroom and a bathroom.
The sides carry it
A fitted wardrobe hangs off the wall behind it. The Poliform Senzafine walk-in closet uses thicker sides, so it carries its own weight and needs no wall for support. That one detail opens up the plan: a dressing area in the middle of a large bedroom, or a run of open storage that divides the sleeping side of a suite from the bath.
Without doors, the whole wardrobe stays in view, and getting dressed takes one look. See the Senzafine collection.
Measure before you choose
A Senzafine quote starts from a drawing of the room. We need the width of each wall, the height to the finished ceiling and whatever sits in the way: a radiator, a window reveal, a sloping ceiling under a roof. The system absorbs all of it, and the price follows the parts that do the absorbing.
Leave about three feet of clear floor to walk between facing runs of storage. Add more if two people dress at the same time.
A closet wall, top to bottom
Plan the inside of the closet as bands at the heights your arms reach. The things you use each day go in the middle band.
Doors, or no doors
If the space is a bedroom wall and not a room of its own, the choice comes down to doors. Hinged doors cost the least and need swing space in front of them. Sliding doors need none, which often decides it when the bed stands close to the wardrobe, and they cost more. The walk-in version drops doors altogether.
Senzafine side frames also come in glass, and glass can go on the back panels and doors too. A glass-sided wardrobe works as a display case, which suits a collection of bags or shoes and suits a messy owner less well.
The inside sets the price
Two wardrobes of the same size can differ a lot in price, and the difference sits inside them: rails, drawers, shelves, pull-out trays, shoe racks, lit interiors. Tell us what you plan to store before we price the shell. A list helps: how many long coats, how many pairs of shoes, how many shirts hang and how many fold.
In a walk-in large enough to turn around in, the Senzafine island drawer unit stands in the middle of the floor. It matches the finishes of the closet and gives you a surface to lay out clothes and a watch.
Code by Poliform. The living room system carries into the bedroom as shelves, suspended units and boiserie beside a wardrobe.
Shelves and storage beside it
Poliform Code started as a living room system of open and closed elements and extends into the bedroom. There it becomes boiserie, suspended storage units and shelves, standing alone or combined with wardrobes and walk-in closets. The bedroom containers work as bedside tables or chests, suspended from the wall or free standing on a metal plinth. See the Code collection.
A Code wall beside a Senzafine walk-in keeps one language through the room: the same finishes, fewer different objects.

Send us the room
A plan of the room with the walls measured in inches, the ceiling height, the positions of the door, the window and any radiator, and a rough list of what goes inside. A photograph from the doorway helps us see the light.
Send it through the form at the foot of the page. We reply with a drawing of the Senzafine configuration, the finishes on offer and a written price, with the fitting in your home on its own line.
