People ask us how much a Poliform sofa costs more than any other question. The honest answer is a range so wide that a single figure would mislead you. Poliform, the furniture house from Inverigo in Brianza, builds each sofa to order from a list of choices, and those choices move the total more than the model name does. Once you know which choices matter, you can read a quote and decide where to spend.
Start with the shape of the room
A sofa quote begins with the length of wall you have and the way the seating has to turn. Poliform Bristol, drawn by Jean-Marie Massaud in 2013, comes in a fixed version and a modular one. Fixed is one defined sofa in one width. Modular lets you add a chaise, a corner, an ottoman or an inclined corner element for a curved run.
A fixed sofa tends to cost less than the same length built from modules. A modular one earns its price when the room needs an L, or when you want to add a piece in two years. See the Bristol collection.
Poliform Westside works the same way at a larger scale. Its upholstered modules stand side by side as a long sofa, a corner or a double-sided island, with a chaise longue and a mobile backrest among the elements. You pay by the module, so each added module costs what that module costs, with no percentage on top. See the Westside collection.

The cover moves the most
On an upholstered piece, the cover grade is the largest lever. Poliform offers fabrics and leathers in grades, and the step from an entry fabric to a top leather can double the price of the same frame. Inside one grade the color leaves the number alone, and a step between grades moves it.
For that reason we quote two covers as a matter of course: the one you asked for and one a grade below or above. You see the difference in dollars before you see swatches, and you can decide whether the leather is worth it for a sofa that faces a television five nights a week.
Padding and cushions
Westside comes in two fillings. The standard version uses foam and keeps a firm line. Westside Soft, added by Massaud in 2023, uses feather padding. Feather gives more, takes the shape of the last person who sat down and needs plumping. Some buyers love that and some find it untidy. The two versions use the same modules, so the choice changes the sit and the quote line and leaves the layout alone.
Bristol offers simple, double, free or comfort cushions, all with soft feather padding. The cushion style changes how the sofa looks from across the room and how much upholstery work goes into it.
The bands of a sofa quote

The tables and the rest of the family
Both families carry their own tables. The Bristol coffee tables, added in 2015, stack two planes with metal supports cutting through the upper top; the lower plane comes lacquered or in wood, the upper one also in marble. Westside has three coffee tables: one with a drawer or open compartment, one with a crossed metal base and one to stand beside the sofa. We price each table as its own line, so you can drop one and keep the sofa.
Getting it from Italy to your floor
Three lines follow the furniture on each quote. Sea freight from Italy. Customs duty, set by the material of the piece on the day it enters the United States. Delivery to the room, which depends on your building: a freight elevator, three flights of stairs or a street where the truck needs a permit.
We write each of these as a separate line. A quote that buries shipping and duty inside the price of the sofa is easier to read and impossible to check. Duty rates change, so a quote from six months ago tells you little about today.
