Helga is studioutte's 2025 lamp for Poliform, and it is the smallest thing in this catalog. It takes the lantern, a shape older than any furniture here, and rebuilds it in linen and steel with nothing added.

A lantern, with the decoration removed
A lantern is a light source with a shade around it and a handle above. Strip the ornament away and what remains is a proportion: the height of the shade against the width of the frame. Helga is that proportion, executed in linen over a steel structure, and there is nothing else on it to look at.
Linen matters for the light rather than for the look. A woven natural shade scatters light warmly and unevenly, which is what makes a room feel lit rather than illuminated, and it is the opposite of what a moulded plastic shade does.
studioutte designed it by imagining a house where every object is Poliform, which explains the restraint: it is drawn to stand beside furniture, not to compete with it. On a Nara block or a Mondrian console it is exactly right.
It is also the cheapest way into this catalog, and the one people buy first. A lamp is a low risk introduction to a house whose sofas are priced on request.
Linen scatters light unevenly, which is what makes a room feel lit rather than illuminated.
